Ladbrokes: Designing a multiple cards payment interface

Project Overview:

This project aimed to design a user-friendly and secure multi-card payment process for Ladbrokes, a leading betting and gaming company. The goal was to improve the user experience for customers making payments with multiple cards, facilitating a seamless and efficient transaction process.

Target Audience:

This project focused on Ladbrokes’ online customers enabling them to use multiple credit or debit cards for their betting activities.

Research Process:

  • Stakeholder Meetings: Meetings with Ladbrokes stakeholders, including product managers and business analysts, helped gather requirements and understand the desired functionalities for the multi-card payment process.
  • Wireframing and Iteration: Low-fidelity wireframes were created to visualise the initial flow of the multi-card payment process. These wireframes were then presented to stakeholders for feedback, leading to further iterations and refinements to ensure the design met user needs and Ladbrokes’ business requirements.
  • Technical Considerations: Working with the Technical Architect ensured the design aligned with Ladbrokes’ existing technical infrastructure and also allowed us to explore potential integration points with the chosen third-party payment provider.
  • Payment Gateway Integration: Meetings with the third-party payment provider served two purposes:
    • Understanding the capabilities of their product: This knowledge ensured the design leveraged the full potential of the payment gateway for a secure and efficient multi-card payment experience.
    • Integration scoping: Collaboration with the Technical Architect helped scope the technical aspects of integrating the payment gateway with Ladbrokes’ systems.

By collaborating with stakeholders, the Technical Architect, and a third-party payment provider, this project aimed to create a multi-card payment experience that prioritised user needs, operational efficiency, and security for Ladbrokes’ online customers.
